The 30 club

Before there's a royal rebellion, I really ought to update my blog ...

A couple of weeks ago I turned the dreaded 3-0 and found, to my surprise, that it was not nearly so dreadful as I imagined. I didn't have to go in for a hip replacement and I still don't need bifocals, so life goes on pretty much as before. I had a really good birthday. My husband bought me a new laptop for my birthday, something I'd been sorely needing for quite some time. My other laptop is so old and so frustratingly slow because it doesn't have the memory it needs to run Windows and anything else at the same time. I LOVE my new laptop. I'm so grateful that now I don't have to wait for hours for an internet page to load or to print a document.

On my actual birthday, Ben, Lydia and I went over to my brother's house for some family birthday fun! My brother grilled hot dogs, chicken and steak, my sister-in-law made a fabulous potato salad, we had some wonderful 3-year-old and 5-year-old entertainment and if that wasn't the icing on the cake (hehehe pun intended!) my brother made me a delicious "half moon" cake. The cake was half chocolate with chocolate frosting, and half white with vanilla frosting. It was DELICIOUS. I can pretty much say I have the most amazing family in the whole world. Thanks for making my birthday amazing!!!

Me with my fabulous new haircut and my amazing birthday cake!!

Ben, attempting to eat a giant piece of cake. My brother is always VERY generous when dishing out servings of cake. Apparently he doesn't want leftovers ;)

Quick family picture. Lydia was trying to escape.

Lydia playing with her cousins. She LOVES playing with them, and they with her!

Scott piled Lydia's lap high with soft toys!
