A new set of wheels
One of the things I love about where I live in Georgia is the multitude of amazing kids consignment sales that happen nearly every weekend throughout the early spring and fall. The sales typically reject broken, stained or otherwise un-gently used items, so they are time well spent for the frugal mama. Generally speaking, Saturdays are also half-price days and a great time to find some deals. This past Saturday, I met up with a friend at one particular consignment sale and found a couple of things I've been wanting for a while. My first find was a full-sized pack-n-play for $5. Yep, very good condition, I know, you're jealous. And my other major purchase was a battered old Cozy Coupe that nevertheless still has some life in it, I'd wager. I paid $6 for that, so I'm not going to complain that one of the wheels is a little wonky. Lydia isn't complaining either. She had to try it out immediately once we got back home.
Gettin' crafty
A couple of weeks ago I decided to test out Lydia's fine motor skills by seeing if she could string beads onto a pipe cleaner. Much to my delight and hers, she picked it up in now time flat and we made a bracelet which she loves to wear ... for 5 seconds ... and then she wants to take it right off again. Ah well.

Welcome March!
In like a lion, out like a lamb, isn't that what they say? I'm not really how best to describe the arrival of March other than "relieved". Like, SO glad February is over. February 2012 might not have been my least favorite month ever, but it was close. Lydia got croup to start off the month and then Ben and I both got colds that lasted a few days, then a few days later I started losing my voice. No voice, coughing, and chest congestion, so two weeks later I went to the doctor and found out that I have bronchitis. Three weeks into it and I'm STILL recovering from that icky icky bronchitis. I still cough a lot, but I'm feeling much better, thank you.
We still managed to have some good times in February ... Valentines Day (around here it happened on February 10th for me and on February 14th for my hubby) was very nice. I got to go out for dinner to Taqueria Los Hermanos (HOLY COW YUMMY) with my sweetie and that was wonderful. He brought me the most beautiful boquet of red roses which lasted for 2 whole weeks. I've never had a boquet of roses last that long, ever. We got together multiple times for game night with some good friends of ours who were expecting their first, and they delivered their beautiful baby boy last week. They came over today to show him off and Lydia had a BALL holding baby Michael. Ready for a little brother or sister yet, Lydia?
Oh, and the best thing to happen so far in March? Ben got a job!!! We are so excited, can you tell? After 4 months of unemployment, it was due. It's very much an entry-level position with entry-level pay, but, there's potential for growth and best of all it will give him some experience in this brand new field he switching to.

Learning how to put on pajamas ... wait, aren't those supposed to be footie pajamas?
Favorite pastime #212: Piling dolls and stuffed animals on daddy and reading books.
She very rarely EVER poses, so this was a keeper!
If daddy's not around to pile baby dolls and stuffed animals on, the ottoman will do. Don't forget the books!

Legs are not quite long enough yet ...
