Putting my creative talents to some use ...

My computer decided to die on me last Saturday.  Luckily, only $15 and one power cord later, we are back online.  It could have been so much worse.

I've been spending a lot of time lately watching the cooking channel and HGTV.  In fact, they're the only channels I really watch on TV.  (They're even kind-of addicting).  I've been getting so many good ideas that I just can't stop rearranging furniture or artwork or trying new food dishes.  Creativity both in cooking and decorating is a real passion of mine.  Recently I rearranged the TV room by moving the loveseat to the wall directly across from where it was sitting.  It wasn't so much that I thought it looked better there, but it was more functional for me and my optimal television viewing distance.  Plus it hides the drum-set from Rock Band that didn't have anywhere else to go.  Moving the loveseat opened up a space and so I decided to put a medium-height dresser there to help with the lack of storage space in the apartment.  This particular dresser belongs to the apartment, but when I got it in place I simply couldn't bear to look at it.  It was such and awful slate-blue color and it was dull and chipped in places, so I asked my landlord's permission to paint it.  They said it was fine as long as I didn't paint it a strange color, so I painted it a dark royal semi-glossy blue and I must say, I am quite pleased with the results.
