The grass is green, here and there, and sometimes blue
What a week this has been, and it's only Thursday! It's one of those weeks where I've been thinking a day ahead all week so I woke up this morning thinking it was Friday. How disappointed I was to discover that no, there is still one more day to go before the weekend! We have had one piece of good news in the last couple of weeks--Ben landed a couple of jobs for his company to work on so he still has a job and so does everyone else; for a few more months anyway. Jobs are good--we like when we can pay the bills! My job has been going strong. Our summer camp (of all things) is growing so that means we can afford to stay in business for a little while longer. This week I went to management training, which means I can officially open and close the building. I'll probably be doing more closing than opening and since I'm usually there until close, I pretty much know the drill anyway. Management training was good--it was better than I expected. I expected to be bored, but Corporate's resident Ph. D. was pretty interesting to listen to, and I actually learned a lot. I definitely feel more inspired to do my job and to help make our pre-school a better place. I didn't like the 40 minute drive to and from, however. I'll be glad to ditch that tomorrow and go back to work at the school. A piece of sad news this week--the owners of our center lost their baby--she was 30 weeks pregnant. I can't imagine how devastated I would feel losing a baby, especially that late in pregnancy. Obviously that made things a little crazy at the center, but luckily the other assistant director was able to handle everything so I could finish my management training which I've been waiting so long to be able to go to! I'm looking forward to this weekend. Ben and I are going to the temple and then we'll have to be practicing together with another gal for a performance at a ward activity next week where we'll be doing some bluegrass numbers, including "Man Of Constant Sorrow", "I'll Fly Away", and "You Are My Sunshine". Stay tuned for a full report ...
