Yeah, that's Joe but he looks about 4 feet tall and 12 years old. (He's really 6 foot and 21 years old.)
The weather is finally beginning to cooperate here in Georgia. This weekend was beautiful! Too bad I didn't really spend it outside. I wish we had a picnic table or something at the house. If we did, I would spend more time outside for sure.
So I know this is random, but I've started eating cereal for breakfast again. I haven't eaten cereal consistently for about 5 years now. It all started when I went home for Christmas break and when I came back my milk was sour and since then I started eating yogurt or other things. Lately I've been eating breakfast in my car which typically conisists of a granola bar and a bottle of water. However, most of the granola bars that you can buy are so full of sugar that it's like the instant-sugar-high-and-cavity fest for breakfast and it leaves me hungry anyway. So, in an effort to find food that would satiate my hunger and decrease the amount of sugar that I consume, I've gone back to cereal after a 5-year hiatus. So far, I've found that it's working quite well. I bought 3 different cereals to try: plain cheerios (always good), Kashi toasted cinnamon mini wheats, and some weight watchers cereal that is quite blah. So far I like the mini wheats the best and I think that they do a pretty good job of filling me up. I also eat applesauce or some other fruity thing just to balance things out. This new breakfast program is working well and I feel better in general about starting off the day on a more healthy note. Now if only I could get back into my exercise routine ...
I did do one thing outside this weekend; I took Scooter outside to play in his sandbox!! Grandma and Grandpa Owens bought him a sandbox for his birthday this last week and I bought some sand toys. It's a pretty cool sandbox. It has two sides, one for filling with water and the other side is for sand. Although, being that Scooter is only 2, the sand goes everywhere and you end up with soupy sand. Ah well. Joe was also playing in the sandbox and he and Scooter did a very thorough job of getting Scooter all wet and dirty. Plus, the sand was blue, so Scooter was dirty, wet, and blue! He loved it. I think he could have played out there all day.
Saturday night they did a prom at the church for the youth in the stake. It was fun because our branch got to serve them dinner. It was really fun. It brought back a lot of memories of my prom which was a lot of fun. I can't believe it was ... ahem ... 10 years ago. Yikes I'm getting old! Good thing I can attract younger guys, right?

I had to laugh--we're going to have to get a picnic bench just so that you can spend all that time outside. :D
